French official visits Guinea to discuss elections

A French official will travel to Guinea on Saturday to meet the ruling military junta and the civilian prime minister to discuss the organisation of elections in the first half of the year.The National Council for Democracy and Development (CNDD) took control of the West Africa bauxite exporter last month on the death of President Lansana Conte.
