SYSA Seek Assistance

As works progress at the Sukuta football field, to make the field to a standard playing ground Pointsports on Saturday visited the committee of the Sukuta Youth Sports Association ( SYSA) to find out how is the work going.

The chairman of the association, Mr. Buba Cham, told Point sports that “ we are very particular in developing sports in our region, we have a sponsor for the perimeter by GNOC, Plymouth Banjul Challenge Rally, and Asset, we spend about D330, 000 for the perimeter which is already near completion ”. He said, “ but we are still looking for assistance to make the grass in the field that’s what we lack and we looking for sponsorship we are calling on everybody, the private sector and individuals to assist for the betterment of sports”.

Mr. Cham also mentioned the plans that the committee has for the development of the pitch which is for not only playing football but other sports too.

“We want to have a track lane for the athletes so that students will have access to train and don’t need to go anywhere else”.

He then thanked all sponsors for helping them to fence the field.

“ I’m not forgetting about the community of Sukuta and the players they are always with us on a voluntary basis to make sure that the work is done.”
