One Binta Bah, age 17 a native of Sanyang Village and resident of Sinchu Alhagie, Kombo North, is reportedly missing about a month ago.
Narrating the scene to the Daily Observer, Hadiatou Jallow, Binta Bah’s aunt said that the girl was pressurised to undergo circumcision sometimes ago but ran away from the compound to escape it.
Hadiatou Jallow further explained that, when she (Binta) was found, they decided to delayed the circumcision until she get married. “Suddenly, one Amadou Jallow came to asked for her parent’s consent to marry Binta Bah. Due to this, the parents again forced her to get married to the man which she (Binta) also did not agree on. So due to the pressure, Binta ran away, disappearing from home and her wereabout is still a concern” she explained.
