Monday, June 9, 2008
Hawks put two goal past Samger in their Week Seventeenth fixture played at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium on Saturday,  to
take another huge step towards claiming the league title after many trophy-less seasons.

The narrow, but much needed 2-1 victory saw  Hawks trail second best, Samger, by only one point, while two points separate them from league leaders, Wallidan, who have a game in hand.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Armed Forces prevailed a 1-0 winner against Sait Matty-Africell at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium. The result saw the Soldiers improve their position to fifth spot on 22 points, while the Africell sponsored side remain at eight position on 19 points.

The start of Week Seventeenth fixtures on Friday was marred with goal draught after a zero goal in two fixtures.

League champions Real de Banjul were held to a goalless draw by Bakau United at the East Mini-stadium, while Sea Vie forced
Gamtel to the same score at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium.

The last set of the Week Seventeenth matches will be played today with leaders, Wallidan, taking on struggling Ports
Authority at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium, while Steve Biko face Interior at the East Mini-stadium.
