Real de Banjul have rekindled their hope of retaining the league title after a 1-0 victory against struggling Interior on Friday, at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium.
The win saw the Banjul club oust Samger at the top of the league table on goal difference.
Elsewhere on the same day, Hawks managed a 2-1 win over Sait Matty-Africell at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium.
Alieu Jagne fired Hawks ahead before Pa Malang Ndow pulled an equaliser for the Africell sponsored side.
However, Cherno Njie’s second-half goal was enough to decide the tie in favour of Hawks who now lie at third position.
Meanwhile, the League favorites, Samger, have made a shaky resumption to the national league after a 0-1 defeat to Gamtel on Saturday, at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium.
Doudou Suso’s second-half goal helped Gamtel avenged their 2-0 first-round defeat to the SK East side, an in effect, took a slight step away from the drop zone.
