Abdou B. Touray, Permanent Secretary, Department of State for Finance and Economic Affairs, who doubles as the National Authorising Officer of the EDF in the country has said, the government of The Gambia is fully committed to creating a conducive policy environment for the private sector to take the lead in the economic development and wealth creation in The Gambia.
PS Touray made these statements recently at the Kairaba Beach Hotel, while officially declaring close, a day-long Gambia EC Cooperation Private Sector Workshop on Technical Assistance and Finance Facilities from the European Investment Bank CDE.
According to him, as part of the ongoing consultation between the offices of the NAO, the EC, CDE and EIB, one will explore more in-depth seminars focusing on key sectors and enterprises of the economy so as to come out with concrete results. He added that, this workshop will be the real take off point for the private sector to embrace and take advantage of the opportunities offered by CDE and EIB to better advance the sector and the pre-occupations of its membership.
He thanked Helene Cave and Alieu Abdoullahi of EIB and CDE respectively for their collaboration, participation and dedication at the workshop.
