Timbokoto Village gets Belgian boost

Ereck and Caring, two Belgian philanthropists, on January 7, 2008, presented learning materials to Timbokoto Village - otherwise called Sutunding Taibali  -near Gunjur in Kombo South, Western Region (WR).

The donated items include books, blackboards, chairs, tables, solar panels, typewriters, and computers among others.

Moses Camara, a Global Education teacher based in Belgium who is also The Gambian counterpart in presenting the items on behalf of the donors said the items were meant for the village school.

Mr Camara expressed delight in presenting the donated items to the village and revealed that the donors had a lot in store for Gambian schools.  He emphasised the importance of education in human development.

Kasu Touray, Alkalo of Gunjur village, thanked the donors for the gesture and assured them that the items would be put to good use.

The ceremony was attended by the Imam and founder of the new settlement, Abubacarr Turiki.
