The Supreme Court, presided over by four panel of judges, yesterday, adjourned the criminal appeal case involving Mr Abdoulie Conteh, the former mayor of Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) to its next session.
Justice Abdou Karim Savage, the chief justice of The Gambia, made this announcement, following an application by Omar Njie, assisted by Amie Joof-Conteh, who were holding brief for Antouman Gaye, the defence counsel for the appellant, Mr Abdoulie Conteh.
The defence counsel, Omar Njie, informed the court that he has filed in a notice of extension of the court, as according to him, some documents in the case file were missing and therefore, he would like to apply for an extension of the court proceedings.
Emmanuel Fagbenle, the director of Public Prosecution, did not object to the defence’s application.
