KMC Acting Mayor Faces D4m Theft Charge

Mr. Alieu Momar Njie, the Acting Mayor of Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC), was arrested on 31st August and subsequently detained before being granted bail. Mr. Njie was however subsequently formally charged for stealing.

Mr. Njie last Friday appeared at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court to answer charges of stealing D4,000,000.00 (Four million dalasis) from the Gambia Scout Association, a charge he denied.

Meanwhile the case has been adjourned to 24th September for continuation.
