DoSH refutes Foroyaa report

The Department of State for Health and Social Welfare has issued a rejoinder refuting an article published by the Foroyaa Newspaper, dated 12-13 September 2007, captioned “Gambia falls short on Health Expenditure”.

The rejoinder signed by Sekou Omar Toure, Director of Planning and Informetion reads; Reference: Gambia falls short on Health Expenditures in your 12 - 13 September, 2007 ISSN: 0796-08573 on Foroyaa by Baboucar K Sowe.
The Directorate of Planning and Information request that the Foroyaa paper refrain from publishing portions of National Health Accounts report when the final document has not yet been published.

Extracting portions without reporting on the full story tend to give wrong information.
Your recent statement on this issue does not seem to report accurately the findings of the NHA.
