18-month Jail Term for Guinean

Tuesday, October 23, 2007

The Bundung Magistrates’ Court, chaired by Buba Jawo, on Tuesday of last week dished out an 18-month jail term to a Guinean national but was given an opportunity of paying a court fine to foil his imprisonment.

Momodou Yerro Jallow was sometime in September of this year found in possession of a pedal bicycle in Tabokoto and in suspicious circumstances.

When he appeared before magistrate Jawo at the Bundung Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, Jallow admitted responsibility for the offence and was consequently convicted and sentenced ‘accordingly’.
