Twist in Kanilai ‘spy’ case

Police Prosecutor ASP Touray, on Wednesday, applied before Magistrate Ayoub John Njie of the Brikama Magistrates Court, under Section 169 of the Criminal Procedure Code, for the withdrawal of the ‘spying’ charge slammed on Inacoio Catanosa, a Guinean.

A new charge for entering The Gambia without a pass or permit was preferred against him.

When the new charge was read to him, he pleaded guilty.
Handing down his verdict, Magistrate Njie ordered for Inacoio Catanosa to be deported to his country of origin, immediately.
