WR cross border dialogue bears fruit

The cross border dialogue initiative under the auspicies of the  Brikama Area Council sub-committee for foreign affairs and integration has reached an escalation point in building unity, love and strengthening legal business between the boarder regions of the Gambia, Guinea Bissau and Senegal.

During the recent dialogue, a coordinating committee was established to oversee the activities of the three border regions. Over the past months, this committee has been workin emmensely to fulfil the mandates bestowed on them.

During their last Mondays meeting at the Western Region Governors Office  in Brikama, Ebrima Jallow  secretary of the committee gave a report on a fire belt tesito work that the committee embarked on at Kujubeh at Cassamance where they were formally invited by Casa-Gambia association in that region.

He reported that over two-hundred people participated in the tesito work.He added that   during their stay they  realised that Casa-Gambia association has planted many endangered species of trees during the last rainy season and that they have been organising many festivals relating to border issues.

The assistant coordinator of the Western Region Cross Border Coordinating Committee, Mercel Badjie noted the signifance of proper record keeping.

Lamin Jarju, assistant secretary of the committee harped on the minutes and recommendations of the various executive meetings.
