Nigerian Arrested for Drug Trafficking

As the chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Enforcement Agency Mr Bunn Sanneh warns youth to steer clear of crime, a 35-year-old Nigerian was recently arrested and arraigned last Thursday at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court for violating the National Drug Enforcement Agency Drug Control Act.

According to the statement of offence, on or about 20 July 2007, at the Banjul International Airport, the accused was arrested with 1kg, 162 grams of /cocaine of prohibited drugs.

When the charge sheet was read to the accused, he claimed to understand the charge but denied the charge brought against him.

The case was later adjourned for continuation, while the accused was remanded pending the outcome of the case.
