Lady Sentenced for Infanticide

Amie Jabang, an inhabitant of Brikama Perseverance, was mid this week convicted and sentenced by the Brikama Magistrates’ Court for infanticide.

She was on Wednesday sentenced to serve three years in prisons without any option of a court fine.

Amie had entered a plea of guilty to a charge of killing her 12-month-old baby girl in a willful and unlawful manner.

The case was chaired by magistrate Edrisa Mbai.
