SAFRA Football Tournament Kicks Off

Over five thousand spectators on Tuesday witnessed the official kick off of Safra football tournament between Tamba Kunda and Salibaby which ended 5-1 in favour of Tamba Kunda in a match played at Basse mini-stadium.

Shortly before the kick-off the SAFRA Bureau president Mr Franciso Ansumana Manneh said the event is to cement friendship between participating  countries, even though the ideal is not to win but to participate fully with respect and discipline.

Hosts Basse played out a goal-less draw with Boke while the Gabou and Kaye tie ended 1-0 in favour of Kaye.
In the female category  which kicked-off Wednesday, Tamba Kunda defeated Boke 1-0. The Basse and Gabou encounter could  not be played because Basse failed to arrived on the field on time therefore Gabou went away with maximum three points.
