The Glory Baptist Women’s Fellowship (GBWF) last Thursday donated baby items to the new born babies of the year, at a presentation ceremony held at the Maternity Ward of the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital (RVTH) in Banjul.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Dr Tamsir Mbowe, the chief medical director and director general of the presidential treatment programme, thanked the Glory Baptist for the donation.
According to him, this is another good sign of their continues support to the health sector. He called on other organisations to come and support the RVTH. He added “as said by our leader, Professor Jammeh, in order for the country to attain the MDGs, each and every individual and organisation should come on board because government cannot do it all”. He then stated that the assistance of the Baptist Church towards the health sector, will go a long way in improving the health services of the Gambian people. He, on behalf of the entire staff saluted Glory Baptist for their generosity.
For her part, Mrs Rita donor of the Glory Baptist Women Fellowship, said the gift for the babies are their little contribution towards the health sector. She expressed hope that this will be a blessing to the babies. She also prayed for Professor Alh. Dr Yahya AJJ Jammeh, the Gambian leader and his family.
