DoYS & RA to launch NYDF

The Department of State for Youth, Sports and Religious Affairs has set up a National Youth Development Fund Scheme to empower and help youths in creating business and skills development centres.

This was disclosed by the Secretary of State for Youth, Sport and Religious Affairs at a press briefing held at his office in Banjul. 
According to him, the initiative came about when his Department of State and the NYSS embarked on a countrywide tour during which they identified unemployment problems among youths. He stressed that this fund is entirely meant for the youth population and should be facilitated by themselves.

For his part, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Department of State for Youth, Sports and Religious Affairs, who chaired the ceremony, said the purpose of the briefing is to inform the populace about the fund.

The launch will be held at Terranga Beach Hotel on June 16th. The press briefing was witnessed by Musa Mbye Executive Director of NYSS and representatives from NYC and NAYCO.
