Norway based Gambian donates to GPF

Abdoulie Jagne, a Gambian based in Norway, has donated six spot lights to The Gambia Police Force.

Abdoulie Manneh, Permanent Secretary at the department of State for Local Government, Lands and Religious Affairs (DoSLGLRA), onbehalf of the Secretary of State Ismaila Sambou, presented the items to the police at a presentation ceremony held at the IGP’s office, Police Headquarters in Banjul.

Speaking at the ceremony, Abdoulie Manneh, PS at DoSLGLRA, said this donation is made possible through the efforts made by SoS Sambou, who travelled to Norway sometime ago, where he met Gambians residing in Norway, adding that these Gambians made pledges that they will support the Gambia police force, inorder to contribute their quarter to national development.

In receiving the items, Benedict Jammeh, Inspector General of The Gambia Police Force, thanked Abdoulie Jagne for the benevolent gesture.  He described the donation as timely and called on other Gambians abroad to emulate Mr Jagne.

IGP Jammeh noted that the donated items will be very useful to the police, especially during their night patrols. The ceremony which was chaired by Jatta Baldeh, Police Commissioner of Administration, was attended by Momodou Gaye, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Famara R.I Jammeh, Police Adviser, Famara Jallow, Police Commissioner of Operations, among others.
