MRC back in court

The ongoing law suit filed against MRC by Modou Jarju, a former vice chairman of the MRC Workers Union and Mr Alieu Faal, a chief shop steward of the said union, on Tuesday, resumed at the Civil and Land Division of the High Court in Banjul, presided over by Justice Yeboah.

Yesterday’s sitting saw evidence from the prosecution witness, Alieu Faal, who informed the court that he could remember the content of his termination letter, which was marked in the court as exhibit K.

The witness informed the court that he was not aware of the existence any local staff code used by the management of the MRC.

He informed the court that his services were terminated by the management of MRC sometimes in 2003 and there after, he work at the MRC Workers Union pharmacy from 2004 to October 2006.

Mr Faal acknowledged that the MRC had in place the terms and conditions governing the services of its staff, Faal then identified the said document governing the terms and conditions of employment, which was tendered and marked as an exhibit.

He revealed that he is a married man and has obtained a diploma in biological science in UK. The presiding judge at that juncture, adjourned the case to June 3 for cross examination of the witness by the defence counsel, Bolla Carrol.
