Mam Sait Ceesay Bailed Out

Malick Jones yet to Fulfill Bond

Mam Sait Ceesay, the Press Officer at State House, was on Tuesday granted bail after a couple of days in the remand wing of Mile 2 Prisons.
However his co-accused, Malick Jones, Principal Producer at GRTS, is still in remand at Mile 2 as he has reportedly not yet fulfilled the bail conditions.
Mam Sait and Malick Jones were jointly charged with the offence of communication of code of words contrary to section 4 (1A) of the Official Security Act, cap 1701 1990.

The particulars of offence are that the two accused persons between 5th and 7th September 2007 in the city of Banjul communicated or gave information to a foreign journalist which is harmful to the security of the state.
They were since offered bail in the sum of D200,000.00 with sureties who must meet the bail requirements.
