Eda Carr Pre-Season Tournament Today

The third annual Eda Carr Pre-season tournament, organised by the Banjul Sports Committee, will kick off today, Thursday 27th December 2007, featuring Real de Banjul against Hawks at the Banjul Mini Stadium.
The Pre-season tournaments will feature Wallidan, Real De Banjul, Starlight, GPA, Hawks, Young Africans, Armed Forces F C, and Jollof Tutors.

The tournament is named after the late Baboucar Bah alias Eda, who has played for Starlight FC for over 20 years and the national team. He was described as one of Gambia’s staunchest and one of the most reliable defenders of his generation.

The objective of the tournament is to raise funds for the welfare and upkeep of the little children whom Eda has left behind and to also assist the Banjul clubs in their preparation for the 2007/8 seasons.
