The Gambia Police Force pulled 237 points to claim the annual Gamstar sponsored athletics championships organised by The Gambia Athletics Association on Friday.
The Police side finished 47 points ahead of runners-up, The Gambia Immigration Department to retain the coveted title they deservingly won last year.
The Gambia Armed Forces finished third on 158 points, while Prisons consoled themselves with the fourth spot on 128 points.
Speaking to Observer Sports shortly, Mr. Dodou Joof, Secretary General of the Gambia Athletics Association who coordinated the event said this year’s event was a total success as all the participants competed to the end. He congratulated the winners on their success. Joof hailed all the participating teams for their successful participation.
Mr. Joof also spoke of the selection of ten Gambian athletes and three officials to represent The Gambia in the forthcoming All Africa Games to be held in Algiers later this year.
