FA Cup gathers momentum

The draw for the preliminary rounds of the 2008 Gamtel sponsored FA Cup championship was held on Friday, at the Independence Stadium, Bakau.

The first round preliminary matches involving eight lower teams will be played on Thursday, July 31, at the various grounds across the country.

Brikama Ba will host Jarra West, while Starlight and Flamenins will square off against each other at the Independence Stadium, Bakau.

Second Division giants, Jambanjelly United, will travel to Basse to meet Waterman, while North Bank Region’s side, Adwac, will host Young Africans at Kerewan.

After the first-round preliminaries, four teams will qualify to join the top six teams in the Second Division and the two teams that recently relegated from the First Division for the second round phase.

After the second round encounters, six teams will proceed to join the waiting eight First Division teams for the third round matches.
