Real sink Sea View to go second

Friday, March 28, 2008
League champions, Real de Banjul, tame Sea View with a 2 - 0 victory in their last night league encounter at the Independence Stadium, and leap-frogged Wallidan into the second position on the league table.

Striker Ebrima Bojang fired his side ahead in the 70th minute before Mbemba Colley sealed the tie at 2 - 0 with a stoppage time effort.

Buoyed up by their Tuesday 1-0 win against Ports Authority, Sea View started the game in a bright mood.

Forward pair Pateh Nyang and John Gomez were all close on opener for the Hotel Club side, well before they were left to fight for an equaliser.

Coach Alhaji Sarr’s hopes of fetching his second successive win was dashed in the 70th minute when Ebrima Bojang broke the deadlock with a stunning shot.

Sea View went all out in a bid to land an equaliser but the game was put beyond repair when Mbemba Colley made no mistake to double the advantage -thanks to a last-gasp counter-attack.

Elsewhere, Ports Authority and Armed Forces drew goalless in their Week Eight meeting at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium.

Interior came from behind to salvage a 1-1 draw against Bakau United at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium, as both sides still look for their first win of the season.
