Profile: Awa Demba

Awa Demba was born in Bakau and attended St. Joseph Primary school and Ndow’s Comprehensive school.

She began her footballing career at a tender age with Nambory football club.

She later joined the first division giants Red Scorpions in the Female league.

A club that was formed 15 years ago and has since taken the leading role in the promotion of female football in the country.

Awa is one of the outstanding female football strikers for The Gambia and has a bright future in football.

As plans are on the way for the formation of a female national team, her type is what is needed in the team build up.
