Four bedrooms, a tailor shop and a well stocked store were all recently burnt by a fire outbreak at Bakau Sanchaba.
The inferno, the cause of which is still unclear, broke out at the wee wee hours of Saturday, July 7. Items worth over thousands of dalasis got completely burnt in the disaster.
Speaking to Daily Observer, Essa Ndoye, a tailor, whose shop was completely burnt down by the fire out-break said he lost four tailoring machines, cloths and a generator.
“Nothing escaped from my shop. Everything was burnt to ashes and the same thing applies to my neighbours. It was a total disaster but I have to take it in good faith and understand that this is what God has destined. I am shocked by the disaster but I have to accept God’s will in good faith,” unfazed Ndoye said.
Masaneh Jammeh, another victim expressed similar sentiments.
