Youth Sentenced to Two Weeks Community Service

Kanifing Magistrates’ court, presided over by senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbake on Monday 2nd March 2009, convicted and sentenced one Momodou Fatty to two weeks community service with effect from 3rd March 2009.

The accused Momodou L. Fatty, was charged with stealing contrary to section 252 of the criminal code Cap 10 Vol III Laws of The Gambia.

In delivering his judgment, presiding Magistrate Mbake, informed the court that the prosecution had proven its case beyond all reasonable doubt and the convict had spent six months in prison, because he could not meet the bail condition.

In his mitigation, the convict begged the court to temper justice with mercy as he was a first time offender.

The prosecuting officer Cpl. 358 Ensa Sarr, stood in for the IGP.
