WR Nursery Schools Celebrate Gambia’s Independence

As part of the celebration marking the 44th Independence Anniversary of The Gambia, Nursery Schools in the Western Region Saturday the 14th of March 2009, celebrated the country’s national day at Brikama. About 69 nursery schools from Region II took part in the celebrations.

Speaking on the occasion, a child from Kinderdoff Bottrop Kindergatten Nursery School, Pa Haruna Jabang, who posed as the Western Region Governor, called for attitudinal change for the socio-economic development of the country. “Development in The Gambia will never be possible if attitudes are not changed for the better,” he said.

 “For The Gambia to develop, I appeal to every one to change our attitudes. My government will continue to promote peace and stability for a rapid development,” he emphasized.

He also called for discipline and tolerance among school children. Several local dignitaries attended the occasion.
