Whats On: Nancy Nanz, Ore Fagbenle to release duet

Thursday, February 12, 2009
Plans are currently in the pipleline for Nancy Nanz, a sprouting female singer to do a  duet with the Nigerian-born-Gambian based singer, Ore Fagbanle, according to reports reaching What’s On..

The 16-year-old reggae star, who has overtaken the Gambian airwaves, is rumoured to have finalized plans for the collaboration, which is said to be cut in a studio in Glasgow, Scotland.

Musa Ndow, the promotion manager for Semper Fidelis, the record label for Ore, disclosed that there are plans for the two stars to collaborate , but  was quick to note that, right now he has no details or clue  as to what would be the title of the song or the genre.
‘Right now plans are currently intense for the two stars to enter studio, but it is not in my capacity to disclose what is involved, as it is outside my capacity as Promotions Manager, said Mr Ndow.

According to him, that can only be confirmed by the artists  and repertoire department of the record label, which handle such things. It could be recalled that Ore has recently released a double singles, containing such tracks as “Send a Line to Gerald”, a  song  that is  about domestic violence with an advice for females to stand up against it, and SOS (Live in Freetown), a live recording of a gig she had in Freetown, Sierra Leone, late in 2008.

The second song, SOS, which means Save Our Souls, is a plea to the God Almighty to help the poor and the destitute to overcome the everyday woes of poverty, the intimidation of the rich and the corruption of both Politicians and the ‘419’ or internet scammers, who spoil the image of the good people in the society. You can hear her music in all major radio stations in The Gambia. Her video, which was shot in the UK, should be in the airwaves very soon.

Mr Ndow, also promised the reporter that he will get back to the reporter concerning the duet and the possible dates. Semper Fidelis Entertainment is a record label interested in developing upcoming African artists. They are presently working with a number of West African artists. It was founded by Leo Perkins, a producer, singer and song writer, who was once resident in The Gambia.
