Under-20 Defeat Gunjur Zonal By Narrowest of Margins

The Gambia U-20 team, in a preparatory match in advance of the Wafu Tournament in Nigeria, played a friendly match with Gungur selected Zonal Team at the Independence Stadium at Bakau last Monday.

The match, which was played in order to help the U-20’s improve on their weaknesses and as a result bolster the team’s spirit for the high standard performance at the competition in Nigeria.

The game produced some spectacular performances from both teams, in the sense that; the ball was moved neatly with some cross cutting passes from all parts of the pitch.

The only goal of the match came in the 49th minute of the game and was scored by the prolific striker of the U-20 team Alsanna Camara.

Speaking to Pointsports shortly after the match, the Assistant Coach of the U-20’s, Pa Suwareh Faye, expressed his impressions of the performances put up by both teams and assured Gambians that the boys will do their best to raise our flag in Nigeria.

Mr Lamin Jabang, head Coach of Gunjur Zonal Team, said that his boys are preparing well for the coming Zonals renamed Babe Muhammad Perceptual Tournament.
