The School, registered as the Institute for Memorising Quran and Teaching of Sunnah, was built by Alhahie Ousman Njie in 1986 with the aims and objectives of equipping the people of Faraba-Bantang and its environs with Islamic knowledge.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at the School grounds in Faraba-Bantang, the Master of the School, Omar Saidy Khan described Trust bank as the Gambian bank that is committed to helping the needy.
He assured Trust bank that the money given to them will be properly put into good use. He noted that the gesture will also go a long way in promoting and developing Arabic education in Faraba-Bantang and its environs.
Board Chairman of the School Parent Teachers Association, Nfansu Jung Conteh said that the school board committee members will do their best to improve the conditions of the School by fencing, renovating the buildings and building a Mosque for students.
He hailed Njie Kunda Family for supporting the School in the past year and he also thanked trust bank for their timely intervention.
For his part, Mr Abubacarr Jammeh, Marketing Officer at Trust bank Gambia limited, said that trust bank is a Gambian own bank which is out to help Gambians in need.
He revealed that trust bank give support to so many development projects in the country namely education, sports, health and disaster victims. He expressed his bank’s readiness in assisting schools that deserved the help. He explained that last year, his bank gave out five million and five hundred thousand Dalasis in assisting development projects in the country.
Branch Manager of Trust bank Brikama branch, Abdulah Marthin, said the bank also give assistance to students at the University. He promise Faraba-Bantang Arabic School that the bank will always remember them, while expressing hope that the money given will be spent properly.
The presentation ceremony was witnessed by trust bank staff, Parent Teachers Association members and a cross-section of the community.
