Monday, August 3, 2009

Three Nigerian nationals: Moses Mbago, Frank Iheme and Nandi Patric Nwosu, were last Wednesday arraigned on charges of ‘robbery with violence.’

They all pleaded not guilty to the charges before Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbake of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court.

The charge sheet states that the accused persons on or about the 17th July 2009, at Latirkunda, jointly robbed one Larry Chukwu of 13, 000 Euros and D49, 000, respectively.

When the case was called, the Prosecutor, Cadet Inspector Mballow applied to court to transfer the case to the Special Criminal Court at the High Court and the application was subsequently granted.

Meanwhile, the accused persons are remanded in custody pending the transfer of the case.
