Theft Reduced At Banjul Ferry Terminal Crossing

Thursday, May 14, 2009

Following frequent complaints of stealing at the Banjul Ferry Terminal Crossing point, officers of the Gambia Immigration Department have recently carried out a massive raiding exercise at the area in order to crack down on the criminals.

Some of the businessmen who called The Point office yesterday commended the Minister of Interior, Ousman Sonko, for his timely intervention in responding to their call in addressing their concerns and the officials of the Immigration Department.

According to them before the intervention of the Immigration, hardly a week passed without a passenger losing money, mobile phones or other items and even shop-breaking, but now the situation is under control because most  of the notorious criminals have been arrested.

They added that such exercise should be continued because it will make travellers to have peace of mind whenever travelling.
