Wednesday, April 29, 2009

The case of one Sulayman Ceesay resumed yesterday, the 28th April, 2009, before Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbake of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court. Sulayman Ceesay was earlier brought before Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbake for threatening to kill three women with a knife at Kamalo.

The accused kept quiet when asked to take his plea after the charge sheet was read to him.

Magistrate Mbake then ordered for the accused to be examined by a psychiatrist at RVTH to determine whether he was mentally balanced.

When the case resumed yesterday the police prosecutor, First Class 2118 Gomez, applied to tender a medical report by the Psychiatrist at RVTH who reported that the accused was mentally well and that he was in the habit of being under the influence of marijuana.

The charge sheet again was read to the accused but he again did not take his plea, as he kept quiet.

Magistrate Mbake then ordered for the accused to be re-checked by the psychiatrist at RVTH as to whether the accused was not mentally imbalanced and could stand trial.
