SSF aids Kombo Central schools

Sama-Sang Federation (SSF) an affiliated institution to Christian Children’s Fund, based in Kabafita in Brikama, last Friday made a distribution of eight thousand exercise books, ninety boxes of chalks, eleven cartons of A4 size papers and fifteen packets of vanguards to Lower Basic and Early Childhood Development Schools within Kombo Central, at a ceremony held at the federation headquarters in Kabafita.

The donation was mainly for poor and needy students. Edrissa Cham, Sama-Sang Federation manager, expressed  hope that the materials will meaningfully contribute in boosting the morals of the beneficiaries, thereby giving them the opportunity to also enjoy the advantage other students from rich families are enjoying. According to him, distribution of the materials form part of their three years’s strategic plan which seeks to involve various stakeholders ranging from children, youth, families among others. Cham explained that this was the first supply and they will be making similar distribution in May this year. He observed that the materials will help back-up the students with learning materials, adding "It will help even their teachers in giving them effective lessons".

Cham then called on the teachers and parents to close ranks in the interest of sustainable education for the students. He also urged them  not to give room for complacency in the attainment of their set target goals for their children. For Majula Touray, headmistress of Manduarr Lower Basic School, the materials will go a long way in complementing government efforts in implementing effective and sustainable education. She thanked the federation observing that they have been helping them for a long time.

Kaddy Manka, chair-lady of the federation board said the materials will improve the education standards of the students. She urged parents of the beneficiary students to make the maximum utility of the materials by inspiring their students to work hard for a brighter future. The presentation ceremony was attended by heads of schools, the federation board members and members of the schools’ Parent Teachers Associations (PTAs).
