Sheikh Omar Futiyou Ziyarah Slated For Sunday

The annual ziyarah of the renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Omar Futiyou Taal, is scheduled to take place in Gunjur this Sunday 26 April, 2009 at GunjurBeach side.

The annual event is expected to be graced by Muslims across the country and beyond.

According to the Secretary General of Sheikh Omar Futiyou Taal Foundation, Ebou Taal, the event is organised to promote Islam and also to discuss Sheikh Omar Futiyou Taal’s contribution toward the development of islam in the Gambia and the sub-region.

He revealed that Sheikh Futiyou Taal Foundation will continue to hold the ziyarah every year as long as they are alive.

He further revealed that the late Islamic scholar has immensely contributed towards the propagation of Islam in the sub-region.

Mr Taal called on all Muslims across the Gambia and beyond to grace the significant occasion.
