Serrekunda Youth Remanded

Magistrate Abdoulie Mbake has sent one Muhammed Njie to remand while waiting more probes to be uncovered by police prosecutor, Cadet Inspector Mballow. Prosecutor Mballow applied for the court to deny the allege court bail since police mounting investigations surrounding this case and granting the accused court bail may result to tampering with their witnesses.

The facts of the charge sheet further revealed that, the accused attempted to steal from the police officer on the 20th of April 2009 while he had just finished work and was going home.

The prosecutor elucidated the destructive nature of the locusts where the incident had occured at Handover in Serrekunda. He said that the place is a dungeon where criminals are found.

Therefore, with all these applications put before the court, the presiding magistrate was left with no options but to grant the application and remanded the accused, pending the investigation of the case.

The case is expected to resume back for the next sitting on the 26th May, 2009 when hopefully the court will be furnished with every fact surrounding the matter.
