Re: the image of little Gambia

Editor,

I am a Gambian currently living in Dallas, Texas, USA. After reading Gabriel Badjie`s article about the fraudulent usage of Gambian passports in Indonesia, I felt the patriotic duty to comment and register my support.

It is the duty of the Immigration Department to ensure that only Gambians have access and entitlement to our national documents. Anything less is tantamount to selling the country and in turn jeopardizes our national security.

It is my fervent hope that the government will not only investigate such activities but also take corrective measures to prevent future violations and pass legislation with strict penalties for perpetrators, including corrupt immigration officials.

Gambia is our country and we welcome all peoples and races. Yet, we cannot compromise the future of our children because of corruption and bad foreign elements whose sole interest are selfish and self- enrichment.

May ALLAH guide us and our dear country to the Promised Land.
