Point Editor, Four Others Detained

Mr. Pap Saine, Co-publisher and Managing Editor of The Point Newspaper, alongside Mr. Ebrima Sawaneh, the News Editor of the same paper, Mrs. Sarata Jabbi-Dibba, First-Vice President of the Gambia Press Union, Mr. Emil Touray, Secretary-General and Mr. Pa Modou Faal, Treasurer, were all at the time of going to press held at the Headquarters of the National Intelligence Agency in Banjul.

Information privy to this paper indicated that, they were called to report to the NIA Headquarters in Banjul for questioning since around the hours of 2pm yesterday.

As of now, no official information has been released to this effect.

Meanwhile two other journalists Sam Sarr, Editor of Foroyaa and Abubacarr Saidykhan also a report with Foroyaa were also arrested.
