Over 15 defiant drivers fined

Jammeh Conta, police commissioner in charge of Mobile Traffic has revealed to the Daily Observer that over 15 drivers were recently dragged to court, for allegedly defying police orders. Each of the drivers was fined D2, 000.00.

According to Commissioner Conta, these drivers deliberately refused to obey his office’s order, which stipulates that they should  not use the Sabena Junction as a stopping point.

The Mobile Traffic commissioner also informed this paper that the traffic police officers are stationed at the Westfield and Sabena Junctions to ensure that drivers comply with the order, in the interest of the general public. He called on the general public to support them in this crusade.
