Ous Jallow Ensures Scorpions Victory

The Gambia Senior National team best known as the Scorpions on Friday 9th October 2009 entertained the French Division Two side Guingamp to a hard fought 1-0 victory in what appears to be an action packed game in France.

The international friendly international was aimed at keeping the senior national side active.

The Guingamp side that was using the game to better strengthen the former French Ligue 1 team  in the league competition conceded  the only goal of the game when Scorpions creative and influential star, Ousman Jallow  hammered them with a decisive goal.

The Gambia football fraternity who have occasionally been calling on the FA to involve the senior national team players in  international matches would be very much appreciative of this victory which might  make  a positive move in the global FIFA rankings.

Lack of enough friendly internationals for the team, according to many Scorpions fans, was the main contributing factor for the Gambian side significant drop in the rankings.  The result of it did not go down well with the players.

The latest win of  the senior national team is the first  involvement  in any international encounter  since their mouth-watering  1-1 draw  against Senegal in Dakar  which dashed  both sides  hope of booking  a place in the world and African cup of nations qualifiers last year.
