Sarjo Koita and Mariam Sawaneh, aged 14 and 13 and residing in Brikama Misera, are currently seeking assistance in obtaining financial support or sponsorship from Government NGO’s, Philanthropists, stakeholders or any highly spirited individual in order to continue with their education.
Speaking to The Point recently at their residence in Brikama Misera, Mrs. Fatou Sawaneh, the mother of the duo, said Seijo Koita completed Kabafuta Lower Basic and had not been admitted to any
Alhagie Koita and Fatou Jawara, the parents of the girls, are dead since last year. The stepmother Mrs. Fatou Sawaneh disclosed that if these girls are assisted, they will productive future citizens because they are committed, hardworking and serious in the learning process. “They produced very good results from Grades one to six and now they want to attend the Upper Basic but they lack the funds for school fees to pay for them,” she said.
According to her, she would be very grateful to any one who will support these orphans financially or in another way in order to complete their basic education. “The orphans are suffering every day and their education is going backwards instead of forward,” she said.
