NISA to Twin With University of Gaston Berger

The National Inter- departmental sports Association ( NISA) last Sunday returned from a two days regional sporting events hosted by their Senegalese counterparts in Ziguinchor, the annual sporting event brought together seven regional football teams and the NISA selection from the Gambia to compete for the grand trophy. Among the activities also involved a 3km race for children and a working race for adults.

The NISA Gambia selection won its first opening game against mayor of Ziguinchor team in a post penalty shout out by 5-3, during the second game the SONAM of DAKAR defeated the Gambia selection in a post penalty shoot out by 4-2 whilst in the third place the Gambia again lost to a Senegalese side in a penalty shootout.

In another development NISA has a link up with the University of Gaston Berger in Saint Louise during the meeting the two bodies has met and they have agreed to forged a the link but before the signing of an MOU they will brief the president of the respective association of both countries.

Commenting on the 26 edition of the regional sporting activities held in Ziguichor the president of the National federation of Senegalese workers sports Tony Ndoye said the event is organised annually in the various regions noting that the aim of the programme is to promote good health among the youth and the elderly and also to tell the world that there is peace in Cassamance.

He thanked the Gambia for their participation in this year’s event and urged NISA to organise such an event in the Gambia for Companies.
