The Gambian leader, president Yahya Jammeh, continue to receive more goodwill messages, after the celebration of Eidul Adha and New year. The latest message to have arrived at State House came from Kebba S. Touray, the Gambian ambassador to Spain, and it reads:
As we look forward to yet another new year, 2009, please allow me, your Excellency, to convey to you, your family and the entire Gambian people, well wishes. This I do on behalf of all the staff in the embassy, my family and indeed on my own behalf. May the Almighty Allah continue to protect you, your family and the Gambian people in 2009 and beyond.
I pray for your continued leadership of our dear country and for the Almighty Allah to grant you the strength, wisdom, opportunities and abundant resources to help you in your crusade to make Gambia an economic superpower, under an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.
Please accept, your Excellency, the assurances of my highest considerations and continued loyalty.
Another later came from Sering Njie, and it reads:
His Excellency, Professor Dr Alhaji Yahya AJJ Jammeh, I hereby seize this opportunity to congratulate you on the occasion of the Muslim feast of "Eidul Adha", commonly known as Tobaski, and pray that the Almighty Allah who has chosen you as the right person to lead this nation, grant you and your family peace, long life, good health and prosperity. Amen.
I offer these prayers deep from my heart and I no doubt believe that Allah will answer them, because your actions always symbolise true Islamic principles of serving the cause of mankind.
I would also like to express my special thanks to you in a way that word cannot represent.
May you remain happy and be blessed with pleasant surprises always.
