New Ambulance for Kubuneh Health Centre

Kubuneh Health Centre in the kombo Central District, last Sunday, benefitted from a new ambulance donated by a group of philanthropists from Holland.

The Ambulance was handed over to Frans Sak, the general manager of the Health Centre by Jan Van Spreuwel and Lou Verbirne, at a ceremony held at the Health Centre’s premises in Kubuneh Village, kombo Central.

In receiving the keys of the Ambulance, Frans Sak the general manager of the Health Centre, thanked his counterparts for their strive in transporting the Ambulance from Holland to The Gambia by land, which he described as a great challenge. He revealed that he and his wife Gabrielle are in charge of the Health Centre voluntarily, for a period of five years.

Modou Ceesay, the councillor of kembujeh ward commended the donors for their support. He assured the donors that the ambulance will serve its purpose. He also pointed out that the villagers has been yearning for such assistance for quiet a long time. He said the ambulance will easily help the Health Centre in case of any referrals of patients  and other transportation constrains.

Haruna MS Tambu, the Alkalo of the Village, expressed similar sentiments. Other speakers include; Jan Van spreuwel and Lou verbrene (the donors), Gabrielle Sak and Sarja Gibba, the councillor of Sanyang ward, who represented the chairman of Brikama Area Council.
