Mbaise Family Launches Scholarship Scheme

The Mbaise family from the Igbo clan in Nigeria recently launched their website and scholarship scheme and announced their first scholarship holder at the St. Therese Upper Basic School.

According to Hycent Ekulide, the chairman, their endeavour will strengthen their bilateral relationship with The Gambia.

He thanked the Mbaise family for their dedication.

Hycent Ekulide further said that the Mbaise family inculcates value in youth’s ambitions. He advised members about their website and said, “It should be instrumental.” He said that Mbaise comprises five clans in the Igbo land.

Ekulide gave the history of the Mbaise family. The Chief launcher, Chief Akaneme, praised the family for their bold step in providing scholarship and launching their website. “I now have the singular honour to launch the website to be known as (www.mbaiseinthegambia.org),” he said.

In the same vain, the scholarship scheme was launched and the first student to benefit from it is Rosaline Gomez of St. Therese’s Upper Basic, Kanifing. The Scholarship runs from Grade 7 – 9. Raymond Onwubiko presented the cheque, as no representative from the awardee family was present.

Chief Alex N. Egwim, aka Sir Larry, commended the Mbaise family from the high table and urged for continuous unity among Nigerians. “Let us be each others keeper,” he said. Certificates were awarded to outstanding members.
