One Alasan Bah, on Tuesday, appeared before Magistrate Sainabou Wadda-Ceesay of the Kanifing Magistrates Court, charged with stealing a car, which he denied.
Giving his evidence-in-chief, the complainant Bhagchen Dani, an Indian, told the court that in December last year, he woke up one early morning and realised that his car was missing. According to him, he informed the Kairaba police of the matter. He added that he suspected two of his employees, Alasan Bah and Ebrima Drammeh. He said that he rang both suspects, who were not at work on the said day. He said he spoke with Ebrima Drammeh, who said he had no idea about the car.
He further told the court that Alasan was at large for some days before he was arrested by the Wellingara police. He further said that the accused was interrogated and confessed that he left the car with one Samba. The complainant further revealed that when the car was finally seen, it was discovered that some parts of the car were missing. Police Prosecutor 319 Jobe appeared for the IGP.
