TOURISPHERE: Lemon Creek wins 30th best hotel award

Lemon Creek, a small hotel located in Bijilo behind the Elton Petrol Station has been named one of the 30th best hotels in the world.

In a survey of 663 hotels by Thomas Cook Northern Europe Services, one of the biggest tour operators in Europe and part of Thomas Cook Group, Lemon Creek was ranked number 21 worldwide. This has given Lemon Creek a chance to be accorded this accolade along with  other hotels like Royal Porto Real in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Cliff Bay in Madeira scored 4,655, Serenity in Gran Canaria, 4,585 and Lemon Creek in The Gambia had 4,358.

According to the congratulatory message to Lemon Creek, the management of Thomas Cook Northern Europe said it was "very proud to say that Lemon Creek Hotel (Gambia) is number 21 in the list with a score of 4,358 and the only hotel in The Gambia that has made it to the ‘’Best Hotel’ list."

To be among the 30 best hotels in the list of Thomas Cook Northern Europe, you must pass the evaluation of hotel quality report which is based on Thomas Cook clients’ evaluation. The evaluation is based on five questions. They cover expectation, cleaning, hotel staff, ambience and satisfaction with the room. This is Lemon Creek’s second award in a row.  Lindsey Atkins, duty manager, Lemon Creek hotel, said the hotel management and its staff remain committed to giving  their clients a world-class service. She said their dream is to provide quality, which will put them in the forefront.

Eric Evan,general manager of the hotel, said winning yet another prestigious award has further convinced all of them at Lemon Creek that they are on the right path and they are ready to do better than this.
