Lamin Sports Committee Overrules Sutton United AppealWednesday, September 09, 2009 Sutton United football team of Lamin, who sent an appeal letter to Lamin Youth and Sports Committee (LAYSCOM) against their rival, Lamin Lodge FC on Friday August 28th 2009, for filling an ineligible player was said to be disregarded by the Lamin Youth and Sports Committee, due to inappropriate team address. The said match which was won by Lamin Lodge 3-0, an appeal could not hold substance according to Lamin sports outfit in a letter addressed to Sutton United, hence the entire outline of Sutton United FC’s letter was rather cumbersome. “It therefore made it very difficult for LAYSCOM to determine who the sender or the recipient of the letter is, as Sutton United FC letter contained six different addresses”. According to the Secretary-General of Sutton United FC, David Gibba who walked into Point offices yesterday afternoon, his team has confirmed that Lamin Lodge had fielded an ineligible player during their August 28th match by the name Pa Babou Camara, who wore No. 14 jersey during the said encounter. He said his team had received confirmation from a reliable source that the alleged player, Pa Babou Camera’s name is Abubacarr Camara, and that he is a registered player for Jarinton Footall team of Serrekunda West Sports Organisation SWESO, which is against LAYSCOM 2008/09 Nawettan rules and regulations. Gibba said the said player played a Nawettan league and had previously registered with Inter Milan in the qualifying round of the same league. Author: Lamin B. Darboe |
